It’s impossible to imagine a WordCamp without an after-party! This last gathering between organisers, volunteers, sponsors, speakers, and WordCamp attendees is the time for tongues to loosen, cracking jokes, emptying glasses, and sealing new friendships. It’s party time, but often, many people don’t take advantage of it. Unfortunately, they’re put off by the distance separating the different venues or the waiting time between the closing remarks and the beginning of the party.
Things will be different this spring in Geneva since the after-party will be held on the same premises. It will also provide the opportunity to carry on with the evening festivities directly after the closing remarks. For once, an aperitif (1 glass) and the evening meal (one bottle of for 4 included) will be offered to everyone. The party will be held in the beautiful premises on the lower level of the same building that also houses the Voisins de Blandonnet.
The food for this WordCamp will be provided by the Fondation Apprentis d’Auteuil International (FAAI). Placed under Swiss law, this foundation is committed to childhood protection. One of its missions is to develop projects in Switzerland – particularly in Geneva – that promote the professional insertion of young people who have dropped out of school or professional training. In partnership with the Ecole Hôtelière de Genève and the caterer Gourmet Brothers, the FAAI has developed a magnificent project: a vocational training restaurant in Vernier/Geneva. In The Birdhouse, young people with educational difficulties are supervised by professional trainers from the catering industry and an integration coach. Their training in the kitchen or service leads them to a certified diploma.
WordCamp Genève 2022 is proud to be associated with this fantastic social project, which enables young people to get back on track in life. It will also ensure that all WordCamp participants will enjoy first-class food throughout the day!
