Impossible d\u2019imaginer un WordCamp sans after-party ! C\u2019est au cours de cette ultime rencontre entre l\u2019\u00e9quipe organisatrice, les b\u00e9n\u00e9voles, les sponsors et toutes les personnes ayant parl\u00e9 ou particip\u00e9 au WordCamp que les langues se d\u00e9lient, les blagues fusent, les verres se vident et les amiti\u00e9s se scellent. C\u2019est la f\u00eate, mais souvent, nombreux sont ceux et celles qui n\u2019en profitent pas, d\u00e9courag\u00e9.e.s par l\u2019\u00e9loignement du site de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement ou le temps d\u2019attente entre la fin du camp et le d\u00e9but de la soir\u00e9e r\u00e9cr\u00e9ative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Ce fois \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve, il en sera autrement, car l\u2019after-party se d\u00e9roulera sur le site m\u00eame du WordCamp. Celui-ci d\u00e9marrera du reste un peu plus tard que de coutume pour deux raisons. L\u2019horaire d\u00e9cal\u00e9 permettra d\u2019une part \u00e0 celles et ceux qui viennent de l\u2019autre bout de la Suisse d\u2019arriver \u00e0 temps sans devoir sauter dans le premier train du matin d\u00e9j\u00e0 ! Il donnera aussi l\u2019occasion d\u2019encha\u00eener directement avec les festivit\u00e9s du soir apr\u00e8s les mots de cl\u00f4ture. Une fois n\u2019est pas coutume, l\u2019ap\u00e9ro (1 verre) et le repas du soir (vin compris \u00e0 raison d\u2019une bouteille pour 4) seront d\u2019ailleurs offerts \u00e0 toutes et tous dans les magnifiques locaux situ\u00e9s en-dessous de Blandonnet Voisins.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La restauration de ce WordCamp sera fournie par la Fondation Apprentis d\u2019Auteuil International (FAAI)<\/a>. Cette fondation de droit suisse engag\u00e9e dans la protection de l\u2019enfance a entre autres pour mission de d\u00e9velopper en Suisse \u2013 et plus particuli\u00e8rement \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve \u2013 des projets visant \u00e0 favoriser l\u2019insertion de jeunes en d\u00e9crochage scolaire. En partenariat avec l\u2019Ecole H\u00f4teli\u00e8re de Gen\u00e8ve et le traiteur Gourmet Brothers, la FAAI a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 le magnifique projet du restaurant d\u2019insertion professionnelle Birdhouse<\/a>, o\u00f9 des jeunes en difficult\u00e9 scolaire sont encadr\u00e9s par des formateurs professionnels de la restauration ainsi qu\u2019un coach insertion pour suivre une formation en cuisine ou en service en vue d\u2019obtenir un certificat professionnel reconnu sur le march\u00e9 du travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WordCamp Gen\u00e8ve est fier d\u2019\u00eatre associ\u00e9 \u00e0 ce beau projet social, qui permet \u00e0 des jeunes de reprendre pied sur un bon chemin de vie\u2026 et qui assurera aux \u201cWordCampeur.se.s\u201d qui viendront \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve le 10 octobre une restauration de premi\u00e8re qualit\u00e9 tout au long de cette journ\u00e9e !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catering with a social purpose
and an after-party on the premises<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s impossible to imagine a WordCamp without an after-party! This last gathering between organisers, volunteers, sponsors, speakers, and WordCamp attendees enables tongues to loosen, jokes to be cracked, glasses to be emptied, and friendships to be sealed. It’s party time but often, many people don’t take advantage of it, discouraged by the distance separating the different venues or the waiting time between the end of the WordCamp and the beginning of the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things are going to be different this time in Geneva. The WordCamp will start a bit later than usual, and the after-party will be held on the same premises. By starting later, we will allow those coming from further afield to arrive on time without having to already jump on the first train at the crack of dawn! It will also provide the opportunity to carry on with the evening festivities directly after the closing words. For once, an aperitif (1 glass) and the evening meal (one bottle of for 4 included) will be offered to everyone in the beautiful premises located underneath Blandonnet Voisins<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The catering for this WordCamp will be provided by the Fondation Apprentis d’Auteuil International (FAAI)<\/a>. Placed under Swiss law, this foundation is committed to childhood protection. One of its missions is to develop projects in Switzerland – and more particularly in Geneva – that promote the professional insertion of young people who have dropped out of school or professional training. In partnership with the Ecole H\u00f4teli\u00e8re de Gen\u00e8ve and the caterer Gourmet Brothers, the FAAI has developed a magnificent project: a vocational training restaurant in Vernier\/Geneva. In the Birdhouse<\/a>, young people with educational difficulties are supervised by professional trainers from the catering industry as well as an integration coach. Their training in the kitchen or service leads them to a certified diploma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WordCamp Gen\u00e8ve 2020 is proud to be associated with this fantastic social project, which enables young people to get back on track in life.
